What Is A Blircle?

A Blircle is a "Blog Circle" or a ring of blogs sending one-way links in a circular manner. What Is A "Blircle"?

A Blircle is a "Blog Circle" or a ring of blogs sending one-way links in a circular manner. Links are not passed 'across' the circle but only to the next blog in the circle in just one direction.

To rank well for a keyword search in Google, a number of things are important. Content, keyword saturation, backlinks, relevancy, etc. You've probably heard them all. But in my opinion, the most effective is the backlink.

Backlinks are important for a number of reasons; most importantly giving "weight" to the target page. And they also give another "entry point" for the search engine crawler software to find your site.

That's all nice you say, but what does that have to do with blircles? Well, the issue comes with getting these backlinks. Most web site owners want reciprocal or "two way" links but what that frequently does is make the page weight a "wash".

My site gives your site weight but you give it back to me. That's a zero-sum event and no one really gains. Oh, we gain some but not as much as a "one way" link.

The search engines definitely give more weight to a one-way link vs. a two-way or reciprocal link. It has to do with what the experts call "authority". If I link to your site but you don't link back (and the topics are related), then your site must be the "authority" on that topic.
So enter the "blircle" or blog circle.

Envision 3 blogs; I'll call them Blog1, Blog2, and Blog3. How original, eh? Anyways, so a blircle would consist of Blog1 linking to Blog2, Blog2 linking to Blog3, and Blog3 linking to Blog1. You should be able to see how the weight or authority is given to each blog as it is passed around.

You may say that it is still a zero-sum event, but in the real world it is not. I do not claim to know the algorithyms and rules that the search engines use. However, my experience and observations show me that it is indeed *NOT* a zero-sum event.

It is obvious to me that (based on personal search engine results) the search engines indeed put more value on a 1-way link than a 2-way one. But don't take my word for it; try it yourself.

Set up 3 blogs that are based around the same topic areas. For instance, you could set up a blog about loosing weight, a blog about excersize equipment, and one about vitamins and nutritional supplements. The topics do not have to be *exactly* the same but should be realated.

Now set up the 1-way links in a circle as described above in a BlogRoll. Submit site maps and RSS feeds (you are doing that already, right?) and watch the blogs march right up the charts.

And to complete the effectiveness of your blircle, put your "money site" (the site you really want to promote) in the center of the blircle and point as many of the blogs as you can to this money site.

Of course, if you have other bloggers participate in the blircle, it may be difficult to get them to point to your money site since they have their own. But restrict your own blog to point to your one money site and the next site in the blircle.
